Well, we are a good ways in to 2008 now and January is half over!
New Years Day was spent with Kendall Elyse and her entire family at our place. We even had friends and neighbors stop by to see how big she is getting and to meet her new family. It was a great day with our last guests leaving around 1:30 in the morning! PS--Her adoption should be final on Valentine's Day; YEAH!!
Whitley has moved into her brand new school building and is having a great semester. Our drive is now three stoplights shorter which saves 15 minutes to our commute, so we are grateful. We have changed her harp lessons to every other week as she has so much homework and never gets to practice as much as she would like.
John is still working out design details for the new master bath & closet and will not start that project for another month or so. He has started back into his gym routine now that his heart meds. are regulated and normal. He is way ahead of the New Year's Resolution curve as he has lost 28 pounds since he started his meds.!!!!
Jamie is enrolled for yet another semester. She is taking the same course load as last semester. This semester is Honors Biology/a lab and College Algebra, for a total of 13 credits. This past week she has been writing essays for merit scholarships. She has been nominated by two professors for two different scholarships so it's an exciting time! After 11 years, she will no longer be cleaning for the Foothills Fire Protection District, but with scholarships in place, money coming in/out should stay the same and she now will have 14 hours of time each month that she didn't have before!
It has been VERY COLD and snowy here. The other night it was in the minus teens and twenty below in other places. BRRRRR!!!! Before we know it, Spring Break will be here and we'll be sitting in sunny Phoenix with John's sister and her family; we can hardly wait to see them!
Hope your year is off to a good start as well; it's always great to hear from each and every one of you, and we enjoyed all your Christmas cards, photos and letters so very much! Hugs and kisses to you all!
